About Paula.
Paula’s paintings feature bold brushstrokes, vibrant colors, stripes, layered “camadas,” and dynamic compositions. She works with acrylic, oil, watercolor, plaster, masking tape, collage, and cut-outs, often creating and removing textures with a spatula. Her layered approach builds visual stories.
Beyond the classic 1x1 m square canvas, Paula experiments with unusual formats such as rhombuses, slim vertical rectangles, and large-scale works several meters long. Her process begins with quiet reflection before unfolding spontaneously and joyfully—an energy reflected in her “telas.”
Highly sought after, Leme’s artworks appear in galleries and private collections worldwide. Her Lisbon studio, Leme Atelier, is a popular destination that regularly hosts exhibitions and events showcasing her work.

Born in Niterói, Brazil, in 1970.

Graduated in Fashion Design from Cândido Mendes University, Rio de Janeiro (1995).

Worked for many years in fashion and pattern design.

Awarded “Novos Talentos da Semana de Estilo” in Rio de Janeiro (2000).

Transition to Art & Training

Shifted to the art world and moved to São Paulo (2010).

Studied at Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage, Rio de Janeiro (2015–2019).

Trained in various artist studios in Rio, São Paulo, Miami, Paris, and Lisbon.

Moved to Lisbon in 2019, where she lives and works.
